Qualified Electrician performing a safety check

$1,250.00

In Queensland, all electrical work performed by a licensed electrical contractor must be performed or supervised by a qualified technical person (QTP) who is endorsed on the licence. The QTP must be either an employee of the electrical contractor, member of the partnership, or an executive officer of the corporation.

The Qualified Technical Person (QTP) short course assists in providing knowledge and skills to identify hazards, follow safe work practices to control risks, and check compliance and safety through the testing of electrical installations, and report on defects found.

Prepare for, conduct, and act and report on findings of compliance inspections of single phase low voltage (LV) electrical installation and low voltage (LV) electrical installation with demand exceeding 100 ampere (A) per phase.

For more information about the role of Qualified Technical Person (QTP) please visit the Worksafe Queensland website.

Successful completion of this training program will allow QTP’s to apply / renew their QTP status under the requirements of the Electrical Safety Regulation 2013.
