Certificate II in plumbing services

The Certificate II in Plumbing Services is an ideal qualification as a pathway into a Plumbing Apprenticeship and will assist students in gaining the basic knowledge and skills required for the Plumbing sector.

This qualification provides students with an introduction into the Plumbing Industry. This qualification will assist students in gaining the basic plumbing knowledge and skills and provides a pathway into a Plumbing Apprenticeship. Practical activities will include using plumbing hand and power tools, cutting and joining sheet metal, carrying out leveling and measurements and preparing for and performing welding. Follow work health and safety requirements including identifying risks and hazards and preparing for work and following procedures to work safely in the workplace. Work safely at heights and on roofs including selecting and installing relevant signage and barriers and checking and installing fall protection equipment. Possible Employment Pathways:
  • Apprentice Plumber
  • Apprentice Roof Plumber

  • Online theory (supervised and self-paced) via Learning Management System
  • Research Projects and home reading to be completed as homework
  • 80 hours (minimum) of Work Placement

Delivery Location

During the entire program you will have access to your trainer via phone or email during normal business hours, should you have any questions throughout completing the course.

Duration

5 regular School Terms (14-15 months) during school year

Units of Competency

To be awarded this qualification, competency must be achieved in 18 units of competency:

  • Sixteen (16) core units of competency
  • Two (2) elective units
