Certificate II in Automotive Vocational Preparation

The Certificate II in Automotive Vocational Preparation is an introductory qualification into the Automotive industry and provides a pathway into an Apprenticeship. This qualification covers the skills and knowledge required to perform minor maintenance and repair of an automotive light vehicle body.

As an entry-level qualification, learn how to safely work and communicate effectively in an Automotive workplace. Use and maintain automotive tools and equipment and identify electrical and mechanical components and systems. The qualification includes carry out servicing operations, install bearings, seals and gaskets, and dismantle and reassemble an engine. Possible Employment Pathways:
  • Vehicle Service Assistant
  • Automotive Apprentice
  • Marine Service Assistant

VET in Schools (VETiS)

  • Face to face classes including practical training and assessment at our campus
  • Online theory (supervised and self-paced) via Learning Management System
  • Research Projects and home reading to be completed as homework

Delivery Location

During the entire program you will have access to your trainer via phone or email during normal business hours, should you have any questions throughout completing the course.

Duration 

12 months during school year

Units of Competency

To be awarded this qualification, competency must be achieved in 12 units of competency:

  • Seven (7) core units of competency
  • Five (5) elective units
