Certificate II in Plumbing Services

Are you eager to explore the plumbing industry? The 11054NAT Certificate II in Plumbing Services is designed to give you a comprehensive introduction to plumbing, equipping you with the fundamental skills and knowledge needed to kickstart your career and secure a plumbing apprenticeship.

What You’ll Learn:

• Hands-On Skills: Gain practical experience utilising various plumbing hand and power tools, cutting and joining sheet metal, carrying out levelling and measurements, and performing welding.
• Safety First: Understand and follow work health and safety requirements, identify risks and hazards, and learn procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
• Working at Heights: Gain expertise in working safely at heights and on roofs, including selecting and installing relevant signage and barriers, and checking and installing fall protection equipment.

Work Placement – Real Industry Experience:
As part of this course, you’ll complete 80 hours of work placement in the plumbing industry. You’ll receive a work experience logbook to record your tasks and hours, ensuring you gain valuable hands-on experience.

Our ATTC Student Placement Officer, along with your school VET coordinator, will assist you in finding suitable work experience opportunities, providing the support you need to succeed.

To achieve the qualification 11054NAT Certificate II in Plumbing Services, the learner must complete 18 units – 16 Core and 2 electives.

Blended Option: Learning & Theory assessment online and practical face to face training.
Face to Face Option: Learning and Assessment face to face.

Campus

As part of the enrolment process, you will need to undertake a Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) and Digital Literacy indicator Assessment. This assessment is used to review your suitability for this course.

The minimum level required for entry to this Course is:

Mandatory Work Experience in the Plumbing industry: As part of the Certificate II in Plumbing Services, students are required to complete 80 Hours of work placement in the Plumbing Industry

• Long pants and long sleeve shirt – Hi Visibility Shirt or Vest
• Safety glasses 

 If students do not have Safety glasses: ATTC will provide for use if necessary.

The VET in Schools Program has been designed to help you make good career and training choices, so you can leave school career-ready, informed and confident in what your future holds. VETiS offers a training pathway so that you can complete either a Certificate I or II while you are at school.

The Career Start Program provides individuals with the skills and support to start their career. The program provides training to help individuals find a job and supports those already employed to move into more skilled roles or full-time employment, including after completing an apprenticeship or traineeship. Career Start offers either a general training pathway or employment-based apprenticeship or traineeship pathway.

Students who are deemed competent in all units of competency will receive a Qualification and Students who are deemed competent in some units of competency only within this course will receive a Statement of Attainment recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework. This certification is nationally recognised. The Qualification or Statement is issued by Australian Trade Training College (RTO 31399)

Where a student has a disability or learning difficulty, assessors will apply Australian Trade Training College reasonable adjustment to ensure that the student is not presented with artificial barriers to progress in the course.

Reasonable adjustments may include the use of adaptive technology, educational support, verbal assessment, etc.

We will provide support to each student’s individual needs, providing additional educational and wellness support required for the student to meet the requirements of their training course.
