Future tradespeople in South East Queensland will now have access to a purpose-built training facility, with Australian Trade Training College (ATTC) officially opening its new Brendale campus.
As one of Queensland’s largest registered training organisations, ATTC’s new purpose-built training facility is set to skill senior school students and apprentices in traditional trade qualifications through workshop-based practical activities and classroom-based theory learning under the VET in Schools (VETiS) and Apprenticeship Training Frameworks.
The Brendale campus boasts fully equipped workshops, with cutting-edge training facilities, including electric and hybrid vehicle training stations, designed to simulate real-workplace environments.
With a focus on electrical, automotive, plumbing, construction, and engineering qualification training programs, the Trade College offers a comprehensive range of programs tailored to meet industry demands and equip students and apprentices with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in their chosen fields.
Australian Trade Training College RTO Manager Pauline Grant-Smith said Australian Trade Trade College is excited to open its doors and welcome high school students from across North Brisbane, “Our goal is to provide a dynamic learning environment that combines theoretical knowledge with practical real work and life experience, preparing students for the challenges and opportunities of the workforce,” she said.
Ms Grant-Smith said the College prepares students for real-world jobs by providing work experience opportunities across all trade qualifications, “This on-the-job work experience provides students with workplace knowledge necessary to thrive in their chosen trade career,” she said.
“There is so many benefits of starting a trade career. If you have a trade qualification you will always have a job due to the high demand for skilled workers. VET in Schools programs not only provide students with valuable QCE points but also empower them to make informed decisions about their future careers.”
Ms Grant-Smith said Australian Trade Trade College’s experienced team of trade trainers, who are industry professionals themselves, are dedicated to delivering high-quality training and ensuring students receive the support they need to succeed, “The training programs offered at the Brendale campus are designed to align with industry standards and requirements, enabling students and apprentices to gain industry-recognised qualifications and enhance their career prospects,” she said.
The opening of the Brendale Campus marks a significant milestone for Australian Trade Trade College, as it takes a proactive step towards addressing Queensland’s pressing skills shortage.
