Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician

This qualification fulfils the technical requirements for you to apply for your electrical contractor licence and become a trade-qualified electrician. Gain the skills to interpret electrical drawings, develop circuits, and install and maintain electrical components, wiring, equipment and systems in residential and commercial applications.

Completed through an apprenticeship, this qualification covers the application of solving problems in electrical equipment while identifying and following work and occupational health and safety regulations and codes of practices in the electrotechnology workplace. Solve problems in single and multiple path circuits, low voltage a.c. circuits, direct current (d.c.) machines, and magnetic and electromagnetic devices. Determine, interpret and use drawings, diagrams and schedules to undertake work tasks. Dismantle, tag, assemble, fabricate and quality check utilities industry components. Safely test and connect alternating current (a.c.) rotating machines and transformers. Apply sustainable work practices through energy assessments and improvements to minimise energy and reduce material waste. Possible Employment Pathways:
