Offshore Skills Assessment Program

Offshore Skills Assessment Program (OSAP) is for people applying for a skilled migration visa, with the exception of 485 or TSS visas.

This program will help you enter the Australian workforce as a skilled worker in your relevant trade.

Offshore Skills Assessment Program (OSAP)

The program is part of the compulsory visa requirements for applicants from the nominated countries, Special Administrative Regions (SAR) and occupations listed in the table on Trades Recognition Australia’s website.

It’s also compulsory for applicants in licenced occupations — Electrician (general) and Plumber (general) – regardless of their country of origin.

To avoid delays with processing your application, we recommend reading the full OSAP Program Outline document AND referring to the Pre-assessment Checklist and Documentary Evidence Checklist before submission.

You can enter into this program one of two ways.

Pathway 1
For applicants who do not have a relevant Australian VET qualification.

Pathway 2
For applicants who have a relevant Australian VET qualification or a current, identified Australian occupational licence.
