Certificate II in Construction Pathways

The Certificate II in Construction Pathways has been designed to covers essential WHS requirements, while allowing the students to gain basic skills in the use of construction tools and materials, reading and interpreting plans, making measurements and calculations and communicating in the workplace.

The Certificate II in Construction Pathways has been designed to covers essential WHS requirements, while allowing the students to gain basic skills in the use of construction tools and materials, reading and interpreting plans, making measurements and calculations and communicating in the workplace.   Successful completion of this course will provide students with the skills required to confidently seek an apprenticeship in a wide range of construction occupations such as bricklaying, carpentry painting and decorating, and wall and floor tiling. Students may also be eligible for employment as a trade’s assistant. Possible Employment Pathways:

Non-funded apprentices and trainees will be charged a fee for service cost. These will be confirmed prior to the commencement of training.
Information regarding costs will be outlined on the agreed training plan, which will be provided to the employer and apprentice or trainee at time of induction.

Requirements for completion of this qualification

Units of Competency

To be awarded the CPC20220 Certificate II in Construction Pathways units of competency to a value of 132 points must be achieved.

Pre-requisite

To work on construction sites, the following Unit is a pre-requisite for the qualification:

  • CPCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry

Resources

Access to a computer/laptop and internet, a video and recording device (e.g. smart phone or web cam) and current email address.
