Migrant Pathways

Trades Recognition Australia (TRA) is a skills assessment service which specialises in recognising trade skills gained overseas or in Australia, for the purpose of migration and skills recognition.

A skills assessment via recognition of prior learning (RPL) determines if you have the skills and experience necessary to work in Australia at the trade level for your occupation.

The services provided in this area are broken down into three programs outlined below.

Trades Recognition Programs

TSS

(Temporary Skills Shortage Program)

For people who are required by the Department of Home Affairs to have a skills assessment for temporary migration.

Am I eligible?

A skills assessment via recognition of prior learning (RPL) determines if you have the skills and experience necessary to work in Australia at the trade level for your occupation.

The Australian Trade Training College is approved by Trades Recognition Australia (TRA) to deliver the above mentioned programs.

TRA is a skills assessing authority specialising in assessment services for people with trade skills gained overseas and in Australia for the purpose of migration and skills recognition. The requirement to have a TRA skills assessment is determined by the type of visa for which they are applying, passport country and occupation.

Potential applicants are advised to check with the Department of Home Affairs before submitting their application, to confirm that a skills assessment is required for their visa application, and that TRA is the correct assessing authority for their nominated occupation.
