UEESS00098 Restricted – Electrical Safety Testing of Electrical Cord Connected Equipment and Cord Assemblies

This skill set is designed for people wishing to undertake the testing, tagging and reporting of portable/handheld low voltage electrical equipment using a portable appliance tester (PAT). These competencies are in addition to those already gained in a relevant field of work where electrical work a regular or occasional function. Learners will develop skills in working safely on portable/handheld electrical equipment, using the portable appliance tester and testing electrical equipment as per Australian Standard AS/NZS 3760, including 3 Phase.

Queensland-based applicants should consult the Queensland Government’s Electrical Safety Office for more information on Restricted electrical work licences and permits.

Requirements for completion of this qualification

  • UEENEEE101A Apply Occupational Health and Safety regulations, codes and practices in the workplace
  • UEENEEP026A Conduct in-service safety testing of electrical cord connected equipment and cord assemblies
