A Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology is designed to prepare learners for a career as a diesel motor mechanic in the transport industry.

The course will provide you with the knowledge to apply inspection, servicing, diagnostic and repair skills over the major components and systems found in heavy commercial vehicles.

These systems include hydraulic and pneumatic brakes, steering and suspension, forced induction systems, engine and fuel systems.

Requirements for completion of this qualification

To be awarded this qualification, competency must be achieved in 36 units of competency made up of 22 core units of competency and 14 elective units
