SHB30416 Certificate III in Hairdressing

This course is ideal for those wishing to establish their career in hairdressing by undertaking a higher level qualification and/or apprenticeship.

It is designed for year 11 and 12 students and school-leavers who have participated in the Certificate II in Salon Assistant and have learned work-ready skills needed to work as a salon assistant.

This qualification reflects the role of hairdressers who use a range of well-developed sales, consultation and technical skills and knowledge to provide a broad range of hairdressing services to clients. They use discretion and judgement to provide client services and take responsibility for the outcomes of their own work.

This qualification provides an opportunity to enter into an Australian Apprenticeship pathway in Hairdressing.

Requirements for completion of this qualification

To achieve a Certificate III in Hairdressing
28 units must be completed:

  • 21 core units of competency;
  • 7 elective units of competency.
