Australian Trade Training College are a Supervising Registered Training Organisation (SRTO) and an approved Skills Assure Provider (SAS) under Queensland Governments User Choice program. The program works in conjunction with the Commonwealth Australian Apprenticeships system, under which apprentices and trainees enter into legally binding training contracts with their employers and receive structured training to achieve a nationally recognised qualification.

Funding and Eligibility

To be eligible to enrol in an Apprenticeship or Traineeship under the User Choice Program, prospective students must:

Age Requirement

        Be 13 years or older in most occupations.

  • Permanently reside in Queensland or
  • Be registered as a Queensland apprentice or trainee, with the workplace address located in Queensland.

        Be one of the following:

  • An Australian citizen.
  • A New Zealand citizen with a valid passport.
  • An Australian permanent resident (includes humanitarian entrants).
  • A temporary resident with the necessary visa and work permits on the pathway to permanent residency.

       Must not hold or be enrolled in a Certificate III or higher-level qualification, except for:

  • Qualifications completed at school.
  • Foundation skills training.

        Be employed by a willing employer that meets specific eligibility requirements..
